Gentle Yoga for Healthy Backs with Christy Fisher

In this very gentle yoga class, we explore practices to stabilize the back and reduce pain. We also explore healthy movement patterns and exercises that help people recover from and prevent future injury. Christy is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher at the professional level, and brings over 37 years of movement training to her teaching. She has worked extensively with people who have injuries and physical limitations, and has specifically studied adaptations of yoga for the lower back and sacrum with leading teachers in the field including, Judith Lasater, Gary Kraftsow, and Carolyn Sudha Lundeen. Christy also worked for several years with University of Washington physical therapist, Kathryn Steucek, on workshops for back injuries and chronic conditions, integrating new principles of physical therapy with yoga. To find out more about Christy go to the instructor page. These classes are appropriate for people who live with chronic pain, or who are in a stage of recovery where their physician has recommended gentle exercise.
